Animal personalities
Comparing people with animals is an old and familiar habit, from fables to everyday sayings. MindScale's eight animal personalities use that habit as a light way of describing how someone acts with others, faces challenges and spends their energy.
Each animal is a picture of a way of being, not a box. Everyone has something of several animals, and none is better than another: the steady Bear and the restless Horse each bring their own strengths. The eight animals, their descriptions and the statements are MindScale's own.

How scoring works
Each statement has five response choices. A response contributes from 1 to 5 points to the scale it belongs to, and the points become a position from 0 to 100. Around 0–33 is the low third, 34–66 is around the middle and 67–100 is the high third.
For the animal result, the highest position is the closest match. A scale within 10 points of the highest can also appear as close behind, because a questionnaire cannot turn a mix of traits into one perfect box.
The benefits of knowing your animal
Seeing your closest animal, and the ones close behind it, can put a simple picture to how you like to work, connect and recharge: as part of a close team, by watching and thinking first, or by finding your own path.
It can also make differences easier to talk about. A friend who is more Dolphin than Owl isn't wrong for wanting company when you want quiet, just different.
Animal personalities in everyday life
Each animal shows up in small choices: how you act in a group, how you handle a problem, what you do with a spare afternoon and how you look after the people around you.
Treat a result as a playful description of how you see yourself now. Your answers can change with circumstances and over the years, and so can your closest animal.
